The Greer Police Department Patrol Division is the largest and most visible within the community, with officers maintaining regular contact with both the public and visitors. Focused on proactive law enforcement and community engagement, the division uses crime analysis data to direct patrols and manage traffic through education, enforcement, and engineering strategies. Officers also provide a strong presence in parks and recreational areas and work closely with local businesses to build strong partnerships.

The city is divided into four patrol areas, each with a dedicated team, while specialized units, including the Traffic Unit, Canine Unit, and Emergency Response Team, are also part of the division and frequently serve as the first responders to calls for service.
