The City of Greer is excited to announce four proposed community projects which will total a $100 million investment over the next four years. The initiative includes facility and land acquisitions to build a new fire station in the Groce Meadow Road area, a public safety police & fire training facility on Hood Road, and a new 500+ spot parking garage on Depot Street. During a press conference today at Victor Gym, Greer City Leadership unveiled plans for the fourth project, a brand new sports and events complex, as the final 60 million dollar investment in the city’s ForGreer Initiative. Did you know that nearly 26% of the total street maintenance labor hours spent by the public services department went towards loose leaf collection this past year? And not to worry either, your 115 loads of leaves went toward a good cause, as they were sent off to a local farm to be used as compost!

The energy of innovation filled Greer City Hall for The Platform at Greer's Bootcamp pitch event last Thursday.
The competition was the finale of The Platform’s two-day program for entrepreneurs. Seven companies worked one-on-one with their coaches who included Greer City Council member Karuiam Booker.
Wittez Vertical Printing won the pitch event. They earned a prize package that includes $10K in legal, financial, and marketing services.

Congratulations to our Tourism Division and Greer Station merchants, who recently placed Silver at the Southeast Festivals & Events Association’s Kaleidoscope Awards Gala for “Best Event Within an Event”. The Tourism Division, led by Lindsey Shaffer, coordinated with Downtown Greer businesses to host live window displays during our Tree Lighting event in December!

We’re doing a little “pre-spring” cleaning, as we like to call it! You may have noticed the Cannon Centre pond is a little low right now…that’s because our awesome groundskeeping crew is draining and cleaning the pond to prevent buildup, dispose of sunken litter, mitigate bacteria and algae, and perform liner maintenance and inspection!
🚨👉 Please be aware that this evening, our Parks, Rec., & Tourism department will be conducting a scheduled fireworks test. This fireworks testing will be a short duration, as we are testing locations for Freedom Blast 2025. Victor Park will remain the firework launching location for 2024. 🎆
