The City of Greer’s Railfest took place over the weekend in City Park …attracting hundreds of train enthusiasts from around the area.

“Our little guy loves trains. I don’t really know how he got so into trains, but she loves making the choo-choo symbol,” Jason Stebbins said.

Jason Stebbins says this was the perfect opportunity for his son Rowen to learn even more about trains.

“So when we heard about Railfest, we thought we should come out here to get him more exposed to some more train related activities,” Stebbins said.

And he’s not the only parent who was all aboard.

“He really likes trains we’ve got a five-year-old and he likes anything to do with train so we thought we come and check it out,” Sean Summey said.

“Just good weather create event opportunity for the kids to learn about some trains and stuff,” John Fifield said.

Those who came out enjoyed trackless train rides, model train displays, and other train related activities.

Many saying it’s just one of the many events they like to attend throughout the year.

“Greer always has a bunch of free things to do fun things. It’s a great place to live.,” EJ Laborde said.
