Classes that previously have not been offered in the region are now being held in Greer and offered to multiple agencies. Companies such as Taser and Glock are using the GPD facilities for testing and have allowed department members to test new equipment in the field.
Firearms Training System (FATS)
The department has purchased a state of art Firearms Training System (FATS). This system allows officers to engage in scenario-based training in new ways focusing on improving marksmanship, proper judgment, rules of engagement and tactical skills when using firearms.
