The Greer Police Department participates annually in National Night Out by hosting block parties in several locations across the city. The idea is to build community around a fun event, where residents can get to know officers patrolling their areas in a relaxed environment. Activities included games, sports, food, and music. It's all backed up the Greer Police Department’s motto—Policing is a Partnership.

National Night Out culminates annually on the first Tuesday in August.

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The state of Texas and select areas celebrate the first Tuesday in October.
