The City of Greer is seeking public feedback as it works toward adopting a new zoning map and Unified Development Ordinance (UDO).
City staff members have worked for the past two years with consultant Kimley-Horn and Associates, board members and various stakeholders to develop a Unified Development Ordinance.
That streamlined policy document combining and updating the existing Zoning Ordinance and Land Development Regulations, will serve as an implementation tool for the vision statements and action items set forth in the City’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan.
The UDO includes regulations addressing a variety of topics ranging from review procedures and zoning districts to development standards such as parking, signage and architectural standards, and definitions.
As part of the UDO, the City will also adopt a new complementary Zoning Map. All properties in the City will be assigned a new zoning district and development standards.
All City of Greer residents will receive a mailer with more information about the process and a link to learn more. Two public drop-ins are scheduled for September 13 at Greer City Hall and another three will be held on September 14 at the Cannon Centre, providing an opportunity for residents to speak with staff and consultants.
