You may notice Veterans Park looks a little different this week. That's because on Friday, our Public Services Department worked to beautify the landscaping at the park. They put down new top soil and mulch, planted 30 Purple Heart plants, and replaced bonfire encore azaleas at the monument.

The City of Greer Recreation Division released several monarch butterflies back into the wild this morning. It’s all part of an environmental conservation effort where our staff collects and raises monarch caterpillars for release. The matured butterflies are tagged and tracked to their destination in Mexico. The monarch butterfly is on the endangered species list, and Greer is proud to have been named a Monarch City USA for its efforts in repopulation.
