Explorer Post 103

What Are the Explorers?

The Greer Fire Department's Explorer Post 103 is for young people between the ages of 14 and 20 who are interested in pursuing careers in emergency medicine and fire science fields.

Greer Fire Department staff train Explorer participants in such topics as fire suppression, salvage and overhaul, SCBA training, aerial operations, ground ladders, basic first aid and life support, fire prevention, and public relations. The program is a great tool for the Explorer to "learn the job" and prepare for a successful and rewarding career.

Benefits

Post 103 serves as a recruiting pool for the Greer Fire Department when job openings become available.

This program not only helps the Explorer learn about the different facets of the fire service, but more importantly it promotes a better understanding of how to work together as a team and to give back to their fellow man.
