The Building & Development Standards Department of the City of Greer is excited to announce the second year of the Greer Professional Development Academy, a repeat of the foundation courses offered in 2022.

Intended for design professionals, developers, contractors and other building and development professionals, this free four-week course will show attendees how to navigate the Development process. Staff will walk through the roles that the Building Department, Planning & Zoning, GIS, Permits, and the Engineering & Stormwater Department play in reviewing projects with the goal of learning how to get projects approved on the first submittal.

Upon completion, participants will receive an official Certificate of Completion and be eligible for special recognition by the City of Greer. With the Certificate of Completion, there is a potential for expedited services for future developments.

The Fall 2023 Academy began on September 14 and classes will continue through October 5. Graduates will be recognized at the October 24 Greer City Council meeting.
