Fourteen new townhomes are now available for an affordable price in the Sunnyside community thanks to the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority.
“We’ve got very nice trim very quality work and they take pride in that work,” said Councilman Karuiam Booker.
The Fairview Townhomes reside in Councilman Karuiam Booker’s district.
“We have a long-standing relationship with GCRA and the work they do in this community. It touches every walk of life,” he said.
He says it’s thanks to the city’s partnerships with organizations like GCRA that help families get closer to that American dream.
“It takes everyone contributing to this to pull it all off,” Booker said.
Mayor Rick Danner agrees.
“As the city strives to ensure that all families have access and opportunity to safe affordable housing helping create generational change,” said Danner.
Echoing the sentiment of GCRA Director Joe Smith.
“When you have a home, you have a chip in the big game,” Smith said.
Who says homeownership can create long-term stability, generational wealth, and pride as a catalyst for good things to come.
“This is a community for all of us race color creed it doesn’t matter a safe warm and dry home is a place. We all deserve to have to be able to raise our families,” Smith said.
Eventually, there will be 33 townhomes on this 3-acre property. The hope is for families to move in in time for the holiday season.
“Homeownership is the American dream,” Booker said.
