Get your costumes on and join the Greer Police Department for a trunk or treat event on halloween night.
“We will be having trunk or treat on trade Street this year on Halloween from 6 to 8 PM,” said Sgt. Ashley Wright.
It’s a new effort by the community outreach team to connect with people in Greer.
“It would be really great for us to bring our whole community together and have a huge event where we can have so much fun right here downtown,” Wright said.
And there’s still time to get involved on a deeper level.
“We are hoping to involve all of our downtown businesses so that they can participate and see all of the kids who are out in costume on Halloween night. We have room for people to bring vehicles for trunks,” Wright said.
As you gear up to collect candy, the police department also has some tips on staying safe.
“If you have a smaller child, hold their hand keep them in sight at all times make sure you have a flashlight or some sort of reflective equipment on so that cars can see you while you’re out trick-or-treating,” Wright said.
