In the aftermath of damage caused by Hurricane Helene, the City of Greer Public Services Department put all hands on deck to remove debris from the community. However, there is the potential debris removal will still be necessary as the loose leaf pickup schedule begins. For more information on Helene debris updates, please scroll down.
Please be sure to check the City of Greer social media pages, our website, or call the Public Services office for any changes that may occur in the posted schedule.
Pile leaves at the curb on the first morning of your scheduled collection date. Crews will not repeat any portion of the route until the next collection period.
Make sure the piles contain only leaves. Other items can damage our equipment and piles with additional objects will not be collected.
Tips for Quick and Easy Collection
Please observe the following to make sure that your loose leaf piles are collected:
Have loose leaf piles at the curb on the first morning of the scheduled collection date in your area. You may always add to a pile until leaves are collected at your home, but city trucks cannot repeat any portion of their area routes.
Make sure the leaf piles contain only leaves. Sticks, twigs, brush, rocks, and household garbage mixed with the leaves can easily damage leaf collection equipment. Leaf piles found to contain foreign objects may not be collected.
Be aware that holidays during the schedule may affect the duration of loose leaf collection in any given area. These dates have been accounted for in the collection schedule, including extended collection dates for affected routes.

An update as of 10/30/24:
The City of Greer Convenience Center has reopened. The center is not currently collecting waste oil, household batteries, or e-waste.
Our solid waste contractor Meridian Waste has resumed normal, bagged yard waste pickup. We are still working with SCDOT on cleaning up the debris from the impact of Hurricane Helene. The DOT has crews across the Upstate focusing first on interstate and primary routes before moving onto secondary and neighborhood roads.
We understand this process has been lengthy for people in Greer, but we appreciate your continued patience as we continue the cleanup.
A reminder to begin piling debris on the side of the road, safely out of the roadway. You can report issues on a state-maintained roadway by calling 855-467-2368.
An update as of 10/9/24:
SCDOT will soon be helping Greer deal with the aftermath of Helene. They will begin their debris cleanup on Monday, October 14.
Do not wait to put your debris at the curb, as we cannot guarantee when the contracted crews will be in specific neighborhoods. It will take DOT crews several days to visit all of Greer. As these crews are working, our Public Services team will continue to operate on the schedule released earlier this week.
Please note the city will not have information on when DOT crews will be in your neighborhood, if they have already been to your neighborhood, or the routes they are running.
