Work is moving along at Matica Group's first manufacturing site in North America, a 38,000 sq. ft. facility at Pelham Crossing in Greer, South Carolina.
Matica released the following update on November 14, 2024:
Greer, SC - Switzerland’s Matica Group, which opened its first North American manufacturing plant in Greer earlier this year, aims to roll out its first 100% Made in the USA products in early 2025.
The company is currently moving equipment into its new space at Pelham Crossing and hiring key staff to get the facility up and running.
Matica is already making an impact in the Greer community. The company recently hosted an opening celebration welcoming both local and international guests including the Swiss Ambassador to the U.S., Ralf Heckner, and Greer Mayor Rick Danner. During the event, founder and CEO Sandro Camilleri announced a $10,000 donation to Greer Relief, an organization that is providing disaster assistance to people in the surrounding community impacted by Hurricane Helene.
“South Carolina consistently ranks as one of the most business-friendly states in the U.S., and Greer in particular has proven to be a perfect fit for our expansion into this market,” said Camilleri. “The local associations and authorities have been extremely supportive and have made us feel very welcome. We are happy to consider ourselves active members of the Greer community.”
Matica Group, a Swiss-based global identity and payment solutions provider, is a family-run company founded by Camilleri in 2007. The company designs, manufactures and markets payment and identity systems and boasts 11 facilities around the world and more than 200 employees.
