Local non-profit Greer Relief will soon have a new home, allowing the agency to serve more people in need than ever before.
“We have been stifled by our services for decades we have maximized every space every corner, every nook that we possibly can,” Executive Director Caroline Robertson said.
Executive Director Caroline Robertson says they have outgrown the space on Victoria Street.
“This will allow for more space in the community for us to do what we do, which is doing better and more together,” Robertson said.
The new space on Berry Avenue is under construction now, and is almost three times bigger than where Greer Relief is currently housed.
“To be able to bring in an organization that can actually serve the community either weekly or daily is just going to be a game changer for this community,” Robertson said.
Robertson says they have been searching for a larger location for some time now, in an area that remains easy to use for those who use their services.
“It is very accessible. There are sidewalks all the way here from the communities that we serve that are walkable,” Robertson said.
The new location was made possible in collaboration with the City of Greer, to ensure the resources offered by Greer Relief can expand along with the growing population.
“Without the city’s partnership, we would not be able to be here and making these moves when we are,” Robertson said.
Robertson anticipates a Spring 2024 move to the new space.
