Leaders to gather in Greer for World Conference

The conference kicks off with an evening reception featuring speakers such as:

 

  • Retired Major General Ed Dorman III
  • Rear Admiral John Polowczyk

 

The conference, which continues on March 28 and March 29, will also feature a variety of local, national and diplomatic leaders, such as Greer Mayor Rick Danner, Latvian Ambassador H.E. Maris Selga and retired Lt. General Tom James, who will discuss a variety of topics, including:

 

  • Russian sanctions
  • Climate change and sustainability
  • Cybersecurity

 

Meeting the challenge of supply chain issues will be the topic of a panel moderated by Greer’s economic development official Greer Reno Deaton, David Edwards, CEO GSP and Will Angelich, Inland Port Greer Terminal Manager

 

“We’re tying international business issues and foreign affairs issues together and talking about things that will interest business leaders,” said event organizer Rob Rowen. “[We] are also trying to focus on smaller businesses that are doing innovations, so there is something for everybody.”

 

  • March 28 ticket plus March 27 keynote – $85
  • March 29 ticket plus March 27 keynote – $85
  • March 28-29 ticket plus March 27 keynote – $135

 

Individuals may also pay $25 to sponsor a student’s attendance. Event organizers are inviting students from schools such as:

 

  • Greenville High School
  • Greenville Technical College
  • Wofford College
  • Furman University
  • USC Upstate
  • Clemson University.
