Records Clerk (part-time)

The City of Greer is seeking a Part-Time Records Clerk in the Police Department.  This position performs clerical and administrative duties in the Operational Support Division under the supervision of the Lieutenant.

Responsibilities: Maintains records; Proofreads reports for errors; Files incident and accident reports; Summarizes incident reports and enters into computer; Accounts for in-service and case number cards; Verifies case numbers;  Maintains various logs;  Makes copies of reports as needed;  Checks criminal histories upon request and transfers into correct forms; Records dockets and tickets for appropriate court;  Administers ledger and filing dockets and tickets; Issues departmental books; Processes tickets and dockets after court; Confirms payments of fines, transfers dispositions onto correct form; Updates identification packets; Expunges various police records; Maintains various complex filing systems; Completes general sessions paperwork and transfer warrants, etc.; Acts as receptionist; Answers telephone, routes  and screens calls, takes messages, provides assistance to callers and in person; Greets visitors; Provides directions; Performs miscellaneous clerical duties; Prepares various types of correspondence; Receives, reviews, prepares, and/or submits a variety of reports and documents including checks, money orders, insurance forms, various lists, criminal history requests, payroll sheets, various logs, statements of conviction, leave forms, warrant transfer forms, affidavits, summons/arrest forms, receipts, accident reports, incident reports, dockets, tickets, ledgers, expungements, bonds, and general office correspondence.

Job Requirements: High School Diploma and one (1) year of clerical experience; Experience in Word and Excel necessary;  Must be able to deal effectively, courteously and professionally with the public in handling inquiries and communicating information.

Hours:  Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM; additional hours as scheduled.

Salary:  $12.87 hour (Grade 3); no benefits are provided with part-time positions.

Uniform Patrol Officer I

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for a Uniform Patrol Officer I in the Police Department.

Responsibilities: Responding to various types of police calls, patrolling assigned areas, making arrests, handling community policing, working as jailor as needed, appearing in municipal court, general sessions, and family court as necessary, preparing reports and records, etc.

Job requirements: High School diploma or GED and at least 21 years of age.  Must be able to successfully complete (or be currently certified by) the S. C. Criminal Justice Academy; Must be able to work 12-hour shifts; Must have a valid state issued driver’s license.

Hours:  12 hour shifts

Salary:  Grade 109 – Entry salary $34,369.

Events / Rentals Assistants (part-time)


Position will remain open until filled

The City of Greer is currently accepting applications for Multiple Part-Time Events Assistants in the Parks and Recreation Department.  This position will assist with the functions held at the City of Greer Events Center. 

Responsibilities:  Assists with the coordination of activities and events for the facility/park, which involves setting up, decorating and executing parties and events; assists in the preparation for the event to include renting facilities, ensuring cleanliness and that rules and regulations are followed by participants; involves repetitious lifting and moving of tables and chairs in set-up and take-down of event; Interacts with the public by providing facility/park tours, greeting visitors, providing directions; Provides information to the public regarding fees, availability and requirements for use; may assist with the coordination of the events calendar;  Maintains records and files on activities and events; Assists with Events Division inventory and related supplies and records.

Job requirements: High School diploma/GED. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Hours:  Hours will vary depending upon schedule of events; primarily Thursday through Sunday and evenings; hours dependent on event schedules.

Salary: $11.87 hour
